INTRODUCING OUR COMPASSION GIFT BAG PROJECT

Every day, thousands of key workers dedicate their lives to caring for others. They comfort the bereaved, respond to emergencies, support those in crisis and carry responsibilities that many of us will never fully see or understand.

Yet behind every uniform is a human being carrying experiences that often go unseen.

Loss. Trauma. Compassion fatigue. Stress. Grief.

These experiences can quietly build over time, often without the opportunity to pause, process or receive the same care they so freely give to others.

To help change that, we have created The Compassion Gift Bag Project.

Our aim is simple: to remind those who spend their lives caring for others that their wellbeing matters too.

Each Compassion Gift Bag has been thoughtfully curated to provide comfort, encouragement and practical wellbeing resources.

Every gift bag includes:

💙 A laminated journal and pen to safely capture thoughts and emotions.

💙 Twenty affirmation cards to encourage hope, resilience and self-compassion.

💙 A stress ball to help release physical tension.

💙 A grounding fidget object for moments of overwhelm or anxiety.

💙 A framed A5 “Thank You” message as a lasting reminder that their service is valued and appreciated.

💙 A calming candle to encourage moments of rest, reflection and self-care.

This initiative is about far more than the contents of a gift bag.

It is about recognising the emotional weight many key workers carry every day and reminding them that they are seen, valued and cared for by their community.

We are inviting local businesses, organisations and individuals to become Founding Sponsors of The Compassion Gift Bag Project.

Your support, whether through financial sponsorship or the donation of suitable items, will enable us to place these gift bags into the hands of those who need them most – students and seasoned professionals alike.

As a Community Interest Company, every donation received is reinvested directly into delivering wellbeing initiatives and community support. We would also be delighted to acknowledge your generosity through our website, social media platforms and community events where appropriate.

Our Why

When The Shift Ends CIC exists to hold space for those who spend their lives holding others.

We provide restorative wellbeing experiences to frontline, emergency & end-of-life professionals who carry the emotional weight of death, trauma and grief in their work.

Through holistic therapies, wellbeing workshops, selfcare giftbags and nature-based practices, we create compassionate spaces where those who care for others are able to pause, decompress and reconnect with themselves.

Our work helps educate and inform on the overall wellness in order to reduce isolation, support emotional wellbeing and strengthen resilience in the health and emergency workforce.
